WELCOME!

This space will contain the magnificent work of our Pre kinder children as they journey themselves into this new, creative learning experience. The integrated project is aimed at developing all the skills that students need to interact assertively in this complex environment. Math Science, English and Dance are taught through the lens of each trimester´s theme: Body, Land and City

As you will see, the Pre Kinder Projects' main goal is to guide the students' learning process so they can learn concepts and develop many important skills through imaginative play and interaction.

Have Fun!

What If we became Painters!

During this What If we arranged the classrooms so that they looked like a professional art class. As you can see in this picture, these 4 and 5 year olds look like university students! Very concentrated with the classical music playing on the background.

Peace and concentration is the key!

What If we go shopping in a CANDY STORE!

The kids of the right are selling the candy, and the kids on the right are buying the candy with fake money that they created on their own. They wrote down the numbers and counted their own money.

The kids explored the concepts of HEAVY and LIGHT with these balances and they had the chance to weigh their candy!

"hmm como hago para que me queden igual de pesados?"

The student then had to classify all the candy that they brought according to categories that they created!

What If we went on a Scavenger Hunt!!!

Here all the kids are looking for their specific vocabulary picture! The teachers gave them a particular letter and they had to search for the matching picture that they created! This way the students are actively building their knowledge, and they are participating in every step of the process. They created their own flashcards with the vocabulary of the project and related those pictures with the letters that we were studying.

After they gathered their flashcards they had to organize them inside the shapes that had the big letter drawn on top. This triangle had the letter /C/, so the students had to place the flashcards of the carrots, cakes and cookies inside this shape!

"Carrot empieza por la /C/ verdad?"

This square had all the flashcards with the letter /P/.

At the end of the scavanger hunt the students gathered the flashcards together and organized the pictures according to where they belonged in this enormous mural!

What If we became cavemen!?

The kids played with the smart boards and brainstormed about where they thought the cavemen lived!

Many rough cavemen took over our school that day!

Some of them were nice, but some of them were very angry!

The kids created a big stone wall with the typical cavemen drawings!

The entrance of our classrooms were just like walking inside caves!

During this What If we enjoyed a fun day outside of our classes and rotated with our Pre-Kinder teachers through four different stations:

1. Vocabulary station

Teacher Laura helped us understand how our bodies work!

Here the students are trying to together the pieces!

Dianita and Leyla played with us in the math station. We had to organize the cars, the bears and the fruits by different group.

Teacher Caro was reviewing numbers, colors, letters and vocabulary with us
with a fun dice game of Tingo Tingo Tango!
